Europe's silent adversaries

The EU’s fiercest enemies are not in Moscow or Beijing, but in Brussels. Careerists and defenders of the status quo who have unwittingly handed the politics of identity and reform to those who seek to destroy the project entirely.

Schrödingers Magyar

Peter Magyar's victory over Viktor Orbán is being celebrated as a triumph of liberal Europe. It is nothing of the sort. It is a mandate for the pro-European right.

Hey, I'm Paul

Europe is not an idea. It is a civilisation worth defending

A media producer and long-time political observer who found his political home in the pan-European movement — after years of searching across the ideological spectrum.

Europe has always mattered to me. My political awakening was, like most, disorderly: from environmentalism to libertarianism, through the centre-right, and eventually towards pan-European thinking. What shaped that journey was not ideology alone, but an accumulating sense that something important was unspoken in European politics.

The threats are not abstract. Russia's war against Ukraine, America's strategic drift, China's structural challenge, a migration crisis that has been managed through denial rather than policy, deindustrialisation, and armed forces that could not, in their current state, defend the continent they serve. I had been watching these fault lines widen for years. No serious political force seemed willing to name them plainly — let alone offer a coherent response.

That changed in early 2025, when I came across AVE Europa. What struck me immediately was their posture: realism on migration, an unapologetic belief in European integration, and a commitment to the rule of law as a foundation for strength. Europe, in their framing, is not a set of shared institutions to be administered. It is a civilisation to be protected, and a family of extraordinary diversity that deserves better than the empty rhetoric of a political class that learned to govern in the same systems it has since hollowed out.

There is something deliberately subversive about AVE Europa, and I find that genuinely compelling. A rebellion without irrationality. An insurgency without violence or dogma. The adversaries of Europe, I have come to understand more clearly over this past year as a member, do not only sit in the Kremlin, Washington or in Beijing. They are also well- established inside the European establishment itself — from the familiar faces of the anti European right, to the sterile professional centrists and leftists who offer continuity in place of courage.

My background is in media. I ran a YouTube channel that grew to over 200,000 subscribers, working across libertarian and centre-right circles. I am now completing a master's degree in media production, with a focus on journalism, media criticism, and media studies. This website is where I think out loud. It is not a news outlet. It is one person's attempt to make sense of a continent in chaos. I am glad you are here — not to agree with me, but to engage with the argument.
